Rashtriya Military School “Group C” Recruitment Syllabus 2016

Rashtriya Military School (RMS) is certainly among the top stuff made under the Military of Defence indeed. Today, RMS officially declared their recruitment for the “Group C” category Civilian Jobs 2016. There are three different vacancies available with the Group C category job and are as follows,

  v Matron

  v Laboratory Assistant and

  v Peon

Age Limits: The candidates who are applying for the Matron Group C job is requested to be in the age group of 21-35 years, whilst the rest jobs you should be in 18-25 years.

  v Age relaxation is applicable as per the norms of Government of India.

Selection Process:

According to the official announcement by Rashtriya Military School, the candidates will be selected based on the Final Merit results of their Written and Skilled test (whichever is applicable).

The Rashtriya Military School written test will be conducted for 2 hours and consists of 150 questions for 150 marks.

Syllabus for Written Exam – RMS Group C Jobs:

General Intelligence & Reasoning: The question will be of 10th standard and would include questions of non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities & differences,space visualization, problem solving, analysis. Judgment, decision making, visual memory,discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetic computation and to her analytical functions.

Numerical Aptitude: This paper will include questions on problems relating to number systems,computation of whole numbers, decimals & fractions and relationship between numbers, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentage, ratio & proportion, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount,use of table and graphs, mensuration, time & distance, ratio & time, time & work etc.

General English: The questions will be of 10th standard. Candidate’s understanding the basics of English language. Its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. His/her writing ability would also be tested.

General Awareness: The questions will be of 10th standard. The questions will be designed to test the ability of candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of 10th standard educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, history, culture, geography, economic science,general policy including Indian constitution and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that, they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Indian Army General Duty (GD):

Educational Qualification:

10^th pass in English and Science or its equivalent

Age limit:

Upper age limit for candidates is 23 years

Citizenship:

Indian citizenship is mandatory. Sometimes foreign nationals will be appointed as per guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

1)   Height:

Candidates must be of 167 cm in height. Relaxations may apply for candidates belonging to some specific states.

2)   Chest size:

Expanded state: 77 cm or above

Chests must be expandable to a minimum of 5 cm

3)   Weight:

50 Kg or above

4)   Others:

Candidates should not suffer from any form of cancer or heart disease. Candidate should have good eyesight and other senses. Candidates need to pass the preliminary physical test to be considered for selection.

Degree courses in Defence sector and their scope:

Apart from joining in entry level using minimum qualification, candidates who are graduates from Defence colleges can also become officers in various departments. The various courses offered in Defence colleges are given below:

i)             B.A. Defence and Strategic Studies

              The course duration is 3 years. The minimum qualification required to enroll for this course is 12^th completion.

ii)            B.Sc. Defence Studies

              The course duration is 3 years. The minimum qualification required to enroll for this course is 12^th completion.

iii)          M.A. (Defence and Strategic Studies/Defence and National Security Studies):

           An undergraduate degree from any of the stream is essential to enroll for this course. For some specific courses UG in Defence and Strategic Studies is essential.

iv)          M.Sc. Defence studies:

          UG in Defence and Strategic Studies is essential to enroll for this course.

v)           M.Phil Defence and Strategic Studies:

          A post graduate degree in same discipline with a minimum of 55% of marks is required. Applicants are required to clear a preliminary written test and interview to be admitted to this course. Some colleges provide this course by distant education and part time education mode also.

vi)          Ph.D. in Defence Studies:

         A post graduate degree in Defence and strategic studies is essential. Students will be selected based on their performance in the written test. The various subjects that candidates can opt for include:

         a)   Military Science

         b)   Military Sociology

         c)   Military History

         d)   Defence Economics

         e)   Map Reading

         f)    Fire safety and management

         g)   Security management

         h)   Disaster management

         i)     Security and

Junior Research Fellow

Educational Qualification:

Aspiring candidates must have passed Graduation degree/ post graduation degree, B.E/B. Tech) in first division with NET/GATE from a recognized university / Institute.

Age Limit:

Candidates can be of maximum 28 years of age & the upper age limit shall be relaxable to the candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC as per Government’s orders.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected purely based on their performance in interview which will be conducted by Defence Research and Development Organization. Selected candidates need to bring original certificates / testimonials at the time of interview.

Pay Scale:

Aspirants, who are selected for DRDO Jobs, will get a monthly salary of Rs. 25 000/- and other allowances are also admissible as per rules.

• Candidates need to deposit an amount of Rs. 10/- as application fee through Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director, CFEES, Brig. S. K. Mazumdar Marg, Delhi-110054.
• There is no fee for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
